The longest seige this century began on 2 May 1992 when Bosnian Serb troops surrounded Sarajevo. Over the next four years up to 10,000 people were killed and 50,000 wounded. These panoramas, taken less than a year after the end of the war, shows the aftermath. The feeling in the city remains one of denial, absurdity, confusion, and a well-founded fear of another war.
